Fr. Dennis’ Installation Mass & Reception – Sunday, February 11, 2024

Last Sunday, February 11, at the 12:30pm Mass, our Parish Family celebrated the formal installation of Fr. Dennis as the 8th pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was wonderful to see so many come out to join in the festivities. Fr. Gerard Gordon, pastor of St. Martin of Tours in Amityville, (dean of our area’s deanery) presided over the installation rites and Fr. Dennis then took over as principal celebrant of the Mass. During the ceremony, Fr. Dennis consecrated our Parish Family to the protection of the Blessed Mother with a beautiful prayer. What made it even more special was that we also were celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes! Following Mass, all were welcomed to a fun parish reception with delicious food and lots of fellowship.
God bless Fr. Dennis and may our Blessed Mother watch over our parish, always! Thank you to all who helped make this day so special for Fr. Dennis and our Parish Family! Below are some pictures from the Mass & Reception.

New Altar Servers Installed!

Congratulations to our newly installed Altar Servers: Daniel Boykin, Caitlin Srubar, Tyler Schwarz, Tyler Burnett, Julia Gliberry, Patrick O’Regan, and John Maxwell. May God continue to bless and guide you as you begin your ministry of service at God’s holy altar. NYS Eucharistic Congress Pilgrimage
October 21, 2023

On Saturday, October 21, Fr Dennis, Fr Charles & Deacon Rich (our parish’s Eucharistic Congress Coordinator) led a busload of OLL Pilgrims to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Martyrs in Auriesville, NY. St. Isaac Jogues, St. Rene Goupil and St. John Lalande were all martyred here in the 1600s and the place where St. Kateri Tekakwitha was born. A wonderful day of prayer, procession and fellowship was experienced by our group and the thousands of other pilgrims from all over New York State. Annual Blessing of the Animals | Sunday, October 1

After a rainy week, this past Sunday, October 1, brought with it some beautiful sunshine just in time for us to greet all of your pets – large and small – on the Great Lawn at OLL where they received a blessing from Fr. Dennis, along with a sprinkling of holy water! (photos courtesy of Mike Folks)

Pilgrimage to Fatima, Spain & Lourdes, France | August 2023

From August 13-21, a group of OLL parishioners traveled on pilgrimage with Fr Charles Mangano & Fr Tony Stanganelli to Fatima, Spain & Lourdes, France. Below are a few photos from their amazing trip! Bishop Barres visits OLL!

On Sunday, August 20, we were blessed with a visit from our diocesan bishop, Bishop John Barres, who stopped by OLL and celebrated the 9:30am Mass with Fr. Dennis & Deacon Nilo.

Deacon John DeGuardi’s Artwork

Deacon John DeGuardi was ordained a deacon for our diocese in May 2000 and served at OLL up until November 2020 when he retired from ministry and moved to New Jersey with his wife, Anne. One of Deacon John’s passions was his artwork, and many of his beautiful creations decorate our church, rectory and convent.Deacon John had a generous way of sharing his gifts and talents. At our 65th Anniversary/Thanksgiving Day Mass, Fr. Brian used the chalice that Fr. Toomey’s parents gave to him for his ordination in 1929. Sixty-five years ago, on November 22, 1956, Fr. Toomey and our founding parishioners celebrated Mass for the first time as a parish family.
