Young Adults

Frassati Young Adult Group | 21-39 years old

Our young adult group will be named after Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati who was born in Turin, Italy on April 6, 1901.  He died at the age of 24 and is presently up for sainthood.  Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati is the patron of youth of all kinds: students, young Catholics, mountaineers, youth groups, Catholic Action, Dominican tertiaries, and World Youth Day.  Though he only lived to the age of 24, Frassati packed his short life with great works of charity.

Our Mission Statement:
As Young Adults we want to support you on your journey of faith by fostering an environment of fellowship, friendship and fun. Come gather with your peers to discover more about prayer and all that God has for you, while making good memories with great people!

OLL’s Frassati Young Adult Group on CFN!

The Frassati group is so grateful for your response and donations. As a result, we were able to make over 250 care packages, 100 sandwiches and 200 cards for St. Patrick’s in Bay Shore, Talbot House and our parish’s Outreach. Thank you to our parish family for your support.  The night was spectacular due to your kindness. Catholic Charities &  Catholic Faith Network even stopped down to capture the event.  Click Here to watch the video.  The segment with the Young Adult Group starts at :28 minutes.

Our Lady of the Island Shrine, Mass & Riverhead Ciderhouse Trip | October 28, 2023

On Saturday, October 28, our Young Adult group made a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Island in Manorville.  After Morning Prayer at OLL, they made their way to the shrine where they prayed the Diving Mercy Chaplet, celebrated an outdoor Mass under the giant statue of Our Lady, had lunch, prayed the Stations of the Cross and walked the living rosary.  The group capped off the day with a visit to the Riverhead Ciderhouse where they enjoyed great food, cider and good conversations.  Below are some photos from the day.

Reflection on the Rosary | October 17, 2023

Thank you to all of the young adults who joined us for our October meeting on the reflection of the rosary! We had a great turn out and we hope you had a good time learning about and praying the rosary, playing games, and getting to meet fellow young adults! It was a wonderful way to celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary. We also want to thank Fr. Charles for leading the reflection! Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us! Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us! Verso l’alto!

Morning Mass & Winery Trip | September 9, 2023

On Saturday, September 9, our Frassati Young Adult Group gathered for 8:30am Mass celebrated by Fr. Charles. Immediately following mass, 12 young adults prayed morning prayer and the rosary with each other, along with Fr. Charles. After the rosary, the young adults carpooled to the Osprey’s Dominion Winery in Peconic. At the winery, they played corn hole and board games (where it got very competitive!), had great conversations about the faith and getting to know each other, and obviously had good wine.

It was a day full of fun, fellowship, and faith. The young adults and Fr. Charles made great memories and funny inside jokes. From morning Mass, to morning prayer, to their time at the winery, to the eventful carpool rides to the winery and back, and the many technical (bathroom) stops, the Frassati Young Adult members grew closer. We hope that more young adults will be able to join us at our future events and meetings to continue the fellowship!

Our First Meeting – July 18, 2023

We had almost 50 young adults at our first meeting, held in the Fr. Joe Garden, where we prayed, played some fun ice-breaker games and ate plenty of delicious snacks!  A great time was had by all!
